Ti Voglio Bene, Me ( I love you, me )
It is the theme I chose for my second personal show at Galleria D’arte San Francesco in Reggio Emilia. I feel already as if a second home town with Reggio Emilia and I love the gallery’s space so much since I have hang my illustrations for the first time in 2015 autumn for a group exhibition there. Since I was very young this theme has been mentally and physically very complicated and important part of my life as it is for may other people I imagined. When I started thinking of love as a grown up person, as a love for anything that surrounds me and anyone who are concerned with me, I started thinking also how it would be important to love myself in order to be able to love others. That is the sceneries and stories my 16 paintings contain and I wanted to share this idea visually with people.
E’ il tema che ho scelto per la mia seconda mostra personale alla Galleria D’arte San Francesco in Reggio Emilia. Sento Reggio Emilia già come se fosse la mia seconda città di casa in Italia e amo lo spazio di questa galleria da quando ho appeso le mie illustrazioni per la prima volta in 2015 per una mostra in gruppo. Quello che ho pensato è che volersi bene è sempre stata una cosa complicata e difficile da quando ero molto giovane, come per tante altre persone. Quando ho iniziato pensare di amore come una persona adulta, dell’amore per tutte le cose che ci circondano, e le persone che hanno a che fare con me, ho iniziato a pensare anche a come sarebbe difficile realizzarlo senza amare me stessa. In questa mostra vorrei condividere questa idea in 16 dipinti con voi.
2018 August ( from 19th until 26th August )
For the official presentation of a new publisher in Bologna KIRA KIRA Edizioni , at the Children’s book shop and publisher in Tokyo, Meguro, Nijinoehonya will exhibit some original paintings for my very first illustrated book ” A Casa dell’Ape ” ( At the home of bee ) and will take place an event of book reading Italian and in Japanese, on 19th August from the 16.00. Galleria San Francesco at Reggio Emilia, Italy Quattro Respiri – Group exhibition of Makiko Asada, Maki Hasegawa, Fumio Sasaki, yuko Tsukamoto
A group exhibition among 4 Japanese artists living and working in Milan, Italy. Makiko Asada with Tempera paintings of the figure and symbols of a historic and religious portrait of Matilde of Canossa, Fumio Sasaki with figurative femminine body sculputures, yuko Tsukamoto with mixed media (prints, photographs, drawings, ceramics) art pieces, Maki Hasegawa with water color illustrations for 2 different book projects.

Galleria San Francesco at Reggio Emilia, Italy Ten nights of dreams – Dieci notti di sogni – 夢十夜
A personal exhibition at the gallery in the town of Reggio Emilia, in the ground floor of a historical architecture from the 17th century , that used to be a stall place. The exhibition was thought to be the exploration of ten dreams that Soseki Natsume wrote in 1908, with 3 illustrations for each stories. Entering the gallery, visitors follow the stories from the first to the ten th night of dreams painted in watercolour in a small dimension of paper 20cm x 20cm. With this small size, I wanted to create the panorama of the mental world of the writer of 100 years ago in Japan, and create a strange trip into it.
Una mostra personale presso la Galleria San Francesco, al piano terreno della storica architettura del 17 secolo che era usata come stalla per cavalli. La mostra e’ stata pensata ad essere un’esplorazione di dieci sogni scritti da Soseki Natsume in 1908, con 3 illustrazioni per ogni racconto. Entrando nella galleria, i visitatori segue le storie dalla prima alla decima notte di sogno dipinti in acquerello sulla carta nella dimensione piccola di 20cm x 20cm. Con la dimensione piccola, volevo creare la panorama del mondo mentale dello scrittore di 100 anni fa in Giappone, e creare un viaggio strano in esso.
かつて御者の馬を繋いでおく馬繋所として使用されていた１７世紀の建物の地上階にあるGalleria San Francescoにて個展を開催しました。展覧会では、１９０８年に夏目漱石が発表した夢十夜を、各ストーリーにつき３点の挿絵を通して探検することを目的としました。ギャラリーに入ったら、第一夜から第十夜まで、２０センチ四方の小さなサイズのイラストとともに順番にストーリーを追っていきます。小さなサイズの挿絵を展示することによって、１００年前の文豪のメンタルな世界へのパノラマを見ているような、またその不思議な世界を旅するような展覧会を考えました。
